Posted: Thu Dec 01, 2011 5:38 pmFoster’s Company structurally separated its Australian beer and wine business. Foster’s Australian beer, cider and spirits business was renamed Carlton & United Breweries in 2010. The Foster’s Wine Business was renamed Treasury Wine Estates 2011.
The Foster’s demerger created two listed companies in Treasury Wine Estates and Carlton & United Breweries.
It has been reported that after Foster’s suffered losses in its wine business, a sale or other transaction covering all or parts of the wine business was possible.
Media rumors have indicated that Chinese buyers have expressed strong interest in acquiring all or a portion of Treasury Wine Estates.
