Wine consumption is growing rapidly in China compared with developed markets such as the U.S. Over the past 6 years, China's consumption of U.S. wines has more than quadrupled.
American wineries are taking advantage of this market growth and is starting to increase their exports. Until recently, U.S. wineries relied on high domestic demand.
At the same time, Chinese investors are buying American wineries for Chinese consumption as well as for investment purposes.
